FEE CHANGE - Effective March 1, 2022, Plumbing installation permit fees will be as follows:
Residential (One and Two Family) Permits: $50 base permit fee, $14 per opening fee
Domestic Water Heater Only Permits: $50
Commercial Permits: $50 base permit fee; $20 per opening fee
Medical Gas Piping Permits: $50 base permit fee; $20 per opening fee
Please be advised that effective Sept. 14, 2020, a $1.00 flat fee will be charged for customers who pay for services using an electronic check (ACH), including, but not limited to the SmartGov online portal.

The Kentucky Revised Statutes (KRS 198B) created a uniform, statewide building code within the Commonwealth and assigned specific enforcement responsibilities to the Department of Housing, Buildings and Construction (DHBC) and to each local government.
